Plants
LUMS despite situated in a small area of around 100 acres represents a complete ecosystem possessing an amazing biodiversity. Around 70% of the flora of LUMS consists of indigenous plants while 30% species are exotic or introduced varieties. Some plant species are of great importance as they have been declared as the endangered species by the IUCN. Such species include Giant tree and red wood tree. Some trees present at LUMS are among the vulnerable tree such as keekar, fern, sita ashoka and kino etc. As part of this project, we planted around 30 species of trees making sure every single specie listed in the Flora of Punjab is present at LUMS.
